Most people don’t realise, or care; but I currently have a website londonwiki.co.uk which covers many areas of London and its history , and includes the entirety of the TFL network and the step free accessible stations which exist. I have personally visited many of these, and also travel around London occasionally in a wheelchair to get to hospitals etc. Its blooming hard, and Clapham Junction is a good example.
I visited Clapham Junction by mistake on the 17th December 2024. I was on my way home from hospital and was heading for the Liverpool street line towards Southend. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was absolutely no signage warning people that a solitary lift in this part of the station was not working. It was very fortunate that the station were making an effort to help people, and a staff member eventually walked and pushed my wheelchair for the entirety of the incredibly long walk to a different entrance to the station where lifts existed. He also made sure we had a ramp onto the train which was impossible without such a lift, and organised a similar ramp at Waterloo when we arrived.
Brilliant, thank you.
Anyway, I have moved this part of the site to a new domain name, i.e. a more user friendly name – http://stepfreerail.com/ and I am adding lots of stations on the Network Rail lines out of London etc.
The site now works; and I would welcome the community of millions who visit London by rail to help me out with the site if you can. And any of the lines as I add them, I am updating South Eastern railway at present
