I moved to Billericay a few months ago. The area is interesting asit is highly Conservative but has the Basildon Labour councillors in charge of the entire area, except they hide behind Essex Highways, another Conservative group, who describe this road crossing as safe for cyclists and pedestrians.
Reform have just wiped out the Tory party, and it couldn’t happen to a nicer group by an even lovelier group who are led by an MP who claims he cares about this country whilst in America and learning about diversity.
First they came for the gipsies, then the disabled, and then the Jews. In this case thet will come for anyone who calls them out as racist and homeophobic.
I have spoken to many people in Billericay, and they say that they have been hit by passing vehicles on this crossing, and generally been ignored for many years. I think it is time for some change. The current Tory MP and th local Tory councillors aren’t that bothered about the crossing.
It is time for the Conservative councillors to actually do something for the residents of Billericay, rather than their usual political point scoring, and complaints about the Labour party.
We want this road crossing to be accessible by a person walking, a cyclist, a pushchair, and also by a wheelchair, a double pushchair.
There is absolutely no way that I could cross this railway bridge without being killed.
